The Clock Strikes Black
Please Help~

I have a request for my new followers (thanks for the support) and my older followers (thanks for hanging in there).

Please, even if you only tell one person, help me spread the word about “The Clock Strikes Black”. I appreciate all the help I can get and excited by all the followers who have helped me so far!

Thanks again!

For those who want to read the first six pages of my story (minus the prologue).

About the Author

I was about fifteen when I started The Clock Strikes Black

Even if…

Even if, in years to come, my book series didn’t do as well as I had hoped, I must say that running around with clocks and fake blood while my neighbors look on in confusion was absolutely worth it. Every time.

How could it not be?

Getting to work

I’ve recently contacted my Aunt, who is a published author, and have picked up a lot of different ideas on how to make myself more well-known.

Although I’ve been trying to publish under traditional publishing houses for the past few years, I’ve decided that I’m going to try epublishing. Although epublishing is still frowned upon by many people  I believe that it’s better than sitting around in fear of trying it.

I’m currently creating profiles on several different websites in hopes of gathering a following and putting my name out there.

The Clock Strikes Black

Though it may sound cliched and overused, my version of Alice in Wonderland is a darker version. Though I know this idea is nothing new, especially since Tim Burton covered it, I feel I have very unique twists and plot connections that take from Lewis Carroll, but also has a refreshing take on a fond story.

Unlike in Lewis Carroll’s version, one of my main characters is The Mad Hatter, who has become bitter in Alice’s absence. In a mad attempt to recover his missing love, he kidnaps a girl who he mistakes for Alice.

Though I don’t want to reveal too much of the plot, we follow this girl as she wanders through the warped Wonderland in hopes of finding her way back home.

Publication Struggles

First off, my name is Kelly Nichols. I’m 19 years old and am a sophomore in a general English major.

In the past I have published several poems, but have been more interested in publishing my novels since sixth grade.

My strongest genre is horror and suspense, though I also frequent fantasy (fairies) and action/adventure (quests).

Although I currently have several books that I’m trying to publish, my main focus is my young-adult book, which is based onAlice in Wonderland. It’s called The Clock Strikes Black and was previously rejected for being too bloody (I edited it so it’s ‘edgy’ instead of violent).

I created this tumblr to hopefully find other authors and possibly gain interest in my novel.
