Both are correct and I apologize if it’s confusing! The Clock Strikes Black is the first in the After Alice trilogy.

Lately I’ve been thinking of doing some kind of contest.

I’m not sure what it should be yet, but I think I might give the winner/winners a sneak peek to the first chapter.

Would anyone be interested in that? And if so, what kind of contest would you like?

Alice and The Mad Hatter, “The Clock Strikes Black”

Of all the people who are following me on tumblr, how many of you would actually be interested in reading my Alice in Wonderland novel?

The Mad Hatter

Age: 20 (eternally)
Eye Color: Cutting Silver
Hair: Long sleek black

Outfit: Classic Victorian-era outfit with his infamous black hat  (outfit changes throughout the series but always stays within certain guidelines)

Nicknames: (The) Hatter

Other’s thoughts of him: He is known to be an inventor (though it isn’t said favorably).

Many of the Wonderlandians who are shown think he’s spoiled and blame him for the destruction of Wonderland).

What he thinks of others: Due to his paranoid demeanor, he doesn’t listen to anyone besides “Alice” (and even she is mistrusted for leaving him).

Figure/build: He is tall and slim and tends to loom over everyone else (to his great satisfaction)

Distinguishing features:  His eyes are unusual. The Hatter has countless fascinating features but you’ll have to wait until you read the book!

Any physical ailments/illnesses/disabilities: He often can’t differentiate between the past and the present. His moods often change because of this.

Likes:  Tea, Alice, Tea Parties, The March Hare, Experiments

Dislikes: Functional clocks, being abandoned by Alice, every other inhabitant of Wonderland.

Describe the character’s house/home: A large house that is dusty and much larger than it seems. This too will be expanded upon once you read the book! Significant/special belongings: Alice’s single white teacup

Peaceful or aggressive attitude while fighting? The Hatter is always aggressive

Fighting skills/techniques: He usually doesn’t play fair and can easily use the opponent’s weaknesses against them.

Weapon of choice (if any): Crystal dagger that he keeps in his breast coat.

Weaknesses in combat: Anything Alice-related (the opponent sometimes tries to mention Alice)

Best Friend: The March Hare, though he is trapped in an alternate version of Wonderland. Also The Dormouse, but he hasn’t been seen since Wonderland deteriorated.

How do they spend their time: Unable to tell that time has passed since Alice left him, The Mad Hatter diligently waits for her, switching between longing for her companionship and hating her for leaving him.
