- The White Rabbit, “The Clock Strikes Black”
By now I’ve posted several character bios (that I’ve recently had to shorten) and am curious to see what you would like to learn about!
Feel free to ask about any character from Alice in Wonderland to see if they’ve made it into “The Clock Strikes Black”.
You can also ask any questions from characters I’ve already talked about.
They broke into a large clearing where a tall tree stood, seeming to puncture the sky with its branches. In the light of the moon the tree’s twisted bark almost appeared to be a rosy pink, the shades of red that coated the surrounding branches making her feel like it was the heart of the forest. What a beautiful tree, I wonder how old it is. As she grew closer to the stretching monument she realized that there were tiny objects hanging from each branch, seeming to take over the tree with their amounts.
“Are those colored bottles? Why Rabbit, have you ever heard of a tree that carried bottles? It is most peculiar, but I am sure you are used to things like this.” The Rabbit didn’t respond, but its insides felt like bursting with a familiar pain that it couldn’t quite remember.
“We do not have such things where I come from,” she assured The Rabbit, not feeling the spasms that were starting to rack its body. “My home would suit you far better than this place.”
She had finally come close enough to grab one of the bottles, standing on the tips of her toes to reach one of the lower branches. The thread seemed brittle beneath her fingers, immediately snapping as though it had been waiting for her touch. She caught the green bottle before it hit the ground, having to juggle The Rabbit in one arm as she tried to remain balanced.
“Drink me.” She read the inscribed bottle aloud, a profound curiosity making her consider following its instructions.
